I Did It!
Wednesday, May 20, 2009

I received this award from two friends I have met through Splitcoast, Dawn Marie and Kim. Be sure to check out their blogs, so you can see their work and hear what's going on in their lives, never a dull moment ;)
To get the award, or shall I say to pick up the Lemonade Stand Award you need t0:
- comment on this blog
- cut and pase the award logo and use it in your own blog
- nominate 5 to 10 blogs you feel show great attitude and gratitude
- Comment back to the person who gave you the award, to show your appreciation.
Here are the blogs that I feel show great attitude and gratitude:
Mary Fish - Stampin' Pretty Mary does beautiful work.
Sharon - No Time to Stamp Sharon also does beautiful work does wonderful things with ribbon.
Jackie - The Scalloped Edge Jackie makes very pretty cards and does a great job with Copics.
Shelli - So Shelli I'm pretty sure Shelli doesn't read my blog, but without her, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be making cards, especially because my first introduction to cards was through Stampin' Up!
Emma - Lady & the Stamp Emma has been nominated already, but I do love her cards and I wanted to let her know that she indeed has a great attitude and gratitude.

Another post for you this week
This is the second card we did last week. I used the Thoughts & Prayers set and markers. I inked the leafy part of the tree with certainly celery and the trunk of the tree with close to cocoa. The card base is also close to cocoa and along the bottom of the card is some certainly celery designer paper.Sunday, May 17, 2009
So little time, so much to do!
This is quite a simple card to make, you use the Manhattan Flower textured impressions die and run it through the big shot. I used rose red and cameo coral, which I thought were nice and bright, perfect for spring and summer. I also used the scalloped and large oval punches. The sentiment is from Very Versitle. New Technique

Finally I had the chance to try the ribbon frame technique that you can learn all about here. Can you believe this was the technique for March 16 and I just got around to trying it out this last weekend? After I saw it, I knew I wanted to try it and my friend Emma showed me how to do it when we were at the Michigan Mingle the last weekend of March. After Emma showed me, I knew I wanted to incorporate the technique in my Mother's Day cards because it is such a beautiful look. I took my sample card to work with me on Monday and ended up with orders for 7. It's a good thing I knocked 6 of them out Tuesday night and the last one tonight, Mother's Day is just around the corner.

More April Birthdays

Wow, are there ever a lot of birthdays in April! I made four of these cards for four birthdays between April 21st and the 30th. Three of these went to my Michigan stamping friends I chat with on Splitcoast and the other one is going to my step mom. I knew I wanted something fairly easy and this was it. I used my big shot, with the flower daisies #2 bigz die. The paper, I think is basic grey, I went to a crop last fall and received a goodie bag with this DP paper as well as the textured card stock, I needed to use it up. I also had the ribbon left over from my wall art project I did last spring. I'm really attempting to use some stuff up. The only stamp on this card is from the Very Versitle set and I used white embossing powder on that.

Baby Girl

I made this card for a former co-worker, she had a baby girl on April 16th. I love this little onsie template I have. I just trace it out, usually on designer paper and put a couple eyelets on the bottom for snaps. I used Berry Bliss designer paper here, trying to use up some retired stuff. The polka dot piece in the back is also from the Berry Bliss DP pack. I used my large polka dot texturz plate and my big shot to do the dry embossing, then I sanded the dots to give it a "weathered" look. Super cute and super easy, just what I like. The stamp is one I picked up from Michaels.
