I used a technique called "faux wood" on this card and here's the blog where I found out how to do it. She used very vanilla craft, I didn't have that so I used white craft. I had to fiddle around with my faux wood piece more than what I would have liked to, but because I used white craft, my wood panel was a little too white for me. So I sponged more mustard, let it dry, sponged it again, repeating this process until I got a look I thought I could work with. Note to self, get a very vanilla craft pad. When I asked my husband if he thought it looked like a hardwood floor, of course he said "no", but I think he didn't put enough of his imagination into it, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. :)

I used the Totally Tool stamp set and colored the tools in with different inks, using my aqua painter. It's a pretty basic card and I'm fairly happy with it, I say fairly because I smudged the sentiment and because it took me so long to get my wood panel the way it is, I wasn't going to re-do it. I might send this card to my dad for Father's Day, he won't mind the smudge, he knows it was made with love.
